Second Season with Juneau Symphony
I can't believe we're already heading into my second season with the Juneau Symphony! I'm incredibly proud of what we've put together, and there is so much I'm excited about. If you're planning an Alaskan adventure this year, we'd love to see you!
The rest of the season, "Elemental", explores air, fire, and water through some incredible music, including Stravinsky's Firebird, Beethoven's Eroica and Romance featuring our incredible concertmaster Franz Felkl, Britten's Four Sea Interludes, music by Caroline Shaw and Anna Clyne, and the culmination of the season, a brand-new work by Marko Bajzer. Marko spent five weeks in Juneau and Glacier Bay National Park this summer, exploring the landscapes, waterways, and stories that will become part of his new work. We can't wait to premiere it, along with other movements from his larger suite, 'From Sea to Shining Sea,' featuring Russell DeLuna of the SF Symphony as a soloist on bass oboe.
I can't wait to get back on the podium with the Juneau Symphony soon, hopefully with the whole family in tow! ❤️ Here's to an amazing second season! www.juneausymphony.org
